A Virgin and Child in silver

Mary, a veil over her hair and a garment whose drapery falls to the edge, lowers her gaze to her son nestled in her arms; the Child raises his head towards her and reaches his hand out to the Virgin. The two haloes engraved in fine rays, which meet at the centre, make this christening medal one of the most luminous in the collection: in satin-finished silver, each ray becomes a thread of light.

A christening medal struck in the traditional way in solid silver

Like our gold medals, this Virgin and Child is obtained by stamping: the solid 925/1000 silver blank is struck beneath the same engraved die as the gold version, which gives exactly the same relief, crisp and lasting, then satin-finished to soften the reflections. The silver weighs 3.60 g in 18 mm. Made in France, in our workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size for a christening medal, the one that is worn for a lifetime. The smooth reverse accommodates an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The same Virgin and Child also exists in 18-karat yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl and in silver and mother-of-pearl, to be worn on a solid silver trace chain or curb chain.
