intimately linked to Art and History, to handwork and to the mastery of the techniques used in the world of High Jewellery, jewellery-making and goldsmithing.
Creating beautiful things is above all a matter of knowledge, skill and time.
The words that make up our name were not chosen by chance.
The word "Manufacture" (from the Latin manufactura,
"made by hand") is an integral part of our identity and our
choices: the choice to bring together in-house as many skills as possible in order to best meet the needs of our Clients.
The notion of "handwork" is central to our pursuit of Beauty.
Manufacture Mayaud imagines, draws and sculpts its own models.
Creating and innovating, but also reviving French heritage, drawing on a rich collection of original dies dating back to 1770.
This is another facet of our expertise, linked to
History: drawing on, taking inspiration from and nourishing ourselves with a rich collection
of antique plaster models and dies from former Houses, which we
have acquired over time.
This also explains the choice of the second part of our name: Mayaud.
A tribute to this very great House of Saumur, which left its mark on the History of the Medal and created the most emblematic religious medal designs.
We have acquired most of the plaster models and tools of the Mayaud manufactory, and have set ourselves the mission of restoring its former glory by striking exceptional French medals.
Thus, some of our models are contemporary, while others come from or are
inspired by this remarkable heritage, restored and now more alive than ever...

Our mother-of-pearl rosettes set in gold are a perfect illustration.
Already described by our Clients as the "iconic jewels" of our House,
these rosettes, made in our Paris workshop, require
many skills, rigour, exceptional raw materials
(extra-white, pure, watchmaking-grade mother-of-pearl, which is very rare) and
a great deal of patience.
The same goes for the dies of our medals... As long as we
are not satisfied with the sculpture, we take the time to work on the expression of the faces, the reliefs that will play with the light once the medal has been struck in gold in the traditional way, details that are sometimes minute but that make the figures more alive and expressive. We are committed to making, in France, exceptional jewellery that will, we hope, be passed down from generation to generation.
