Notre-Dame de Senlis, completed as early as the late twelfth century, is one of the very first Gothic cathedrals of France. Its rose is among the most original of ours: a flower with twelve rounded petals, intertwined around a heart. Our sculptor transposed this design into mother-of-pearl, whose translucency renders the light of stained glass; the gold rim closes the rose. The know-how of Mayaud rose windows

Manufacture Mayaud is the only workshop in the world to make cathedral rose windows in jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl. Each rose window takes many hours of work: the tracery is drawn from the rose itself, then carved and engraved in mother-of-pearl at the scale of a medal, without simplifying anything. It is a complex know-how, developed in our Paris workshop, of which we are very proud, and which we inaugurated with the Notre-Dame de Paris rose window, the first ever offered in mother-of-pearl and 750/1000 gold. Registered design filed with the INPI, 100% made in France.

Natural extra-white mother-of-pearl of jewellery grade, set in an 18-karat yellow gold rim, bail included, from 1.40 g of gold in 20 mm to 1.70 g in 26 mm. Rim in polished finish.

Diameters and variations

Four diameters, 20, 22, 24 and 26 mm: the larger the medal, the more finely the tracery can be read. The Senlis rose window is also available in silver and mother-of-pearl. To be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Senlis rose window medal be engraved? Yes: the reverse of the mother-of-pearl is smooth and takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package.

Which diameter to choose? The 20 mm for a christening or a child, the 22 or 24 mm for everyday wear, the 26 mm to read the tracery in all its fineness, as a pendant.
