Christ Salvator Mundi

The Christ Salvator Mundi is a gold-plated christening medal depicting Jesus seen from the front, blessing with one hand and holding in the other the globe surmounted by the cross: the Saviour of the world.

A Christ who blesses and holds the world

Jesus is seen from the front, beneath a halo adorned with scrollwork and marked with the cross; his right hand blesses, two fingers raised, his left hand holds the cruciferous globe. It is the image of the Salvator Mundi fixed by the Flemish and Italian painters of the late Middle Ages, of which the painting attributed to Leonardo da Vinci remains the most famous version. Our sculptor kept its frontality and its two gestures, in a relief rich down to the detail of the halo.

Mayaud gold plate

This medal is made in Mayaud gold plate: a French-made solid gilded brass base, struck under the same engraved die as the gold version, covered with a 3-micron layer of 18-karat (750/1000) gold. Made in our Paris workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Christ Salvator Mundi is also available in solid yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl, in solid silver and in silver and mother-of-pearl.
