The Virgin Mary is a gold-plated christening medal depicting her in profile, arms crossed on her breast, in a gesture of humility.

A Virgin Mary, arms crossed

Mary is seen in profile, turned to the right, her head inclined, her eyes lowered. A veil over her hair falls to her shoulders; a halo of a fine line rings her head. She crosses her arms on her breast, hands flat, in the gesture of humility and welcome, that of the handmaid of the Lord at the moment of the Annunciation. The drapery of the tunic, in ample folds, fills the whole lower part of the medal. Humility: that is the word that comes before this Virgin, and what makes her so right for a christening. Mayaud gold plate

This medal is made in Mayaud gold plate: a French-made solid gilded brass base, struck under the same engraved die as the gold version, covered with a 3-micron layer of 18-karat (750/1000) gold. Made in our Paris workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Virgin Mary is also available in solid yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl, in solid silver and in silver and mother-of-pearl.
