Mater Divinae Gratia

In solid silver, Mater Divinae Gratia keeps everything that makes the model: the Virgin and Child seated on a throne, in a garden, beneath her engraved Latin title, Mother of Divine Grace.

A Virgin and Child in majesty, in silver

Mary is seated facing forward on an ornate throne, a veil over her hair, the Child nestled on her lap, his hand raised; on either side rise leafy branches, and across the top runs the inscription MATER DIVINAE GRATIAE, one of the invocations of the Litany of Loreto. Throne, garden, inscription: our sculptor composed a true scene, in the manner of altarpieces, of which the satin silver renders every plane. A christening medal for those who love old, richly worked medals.

A christening medal struck in the traditional way in solid silver

Like our gold medals, Mater Divinae Gratia is made by stamping: the solid 925/1000 silver blank is struck under the same engraved die as the gold version, giving exactly the same relief, just as crisp; the silver medal is thicker. Rhodium-plated, the silver does not tarnish and needs no care. The silver weighs 3.60 g in 18 mm. Made in France, in our workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size for a christening medal. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. Mater Divinae Gratia is also available in 18-karat yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl, in silver and mother-of-pearl, in vermeil and in gold plate, to be worn on a solid silver trace chain or curb chain.
