Tree of Life Medal

The Tree of Life medal is an 18-karat yellow gold christening medal depicting a tree in full leaf, one of the oldest and most universal of symbols.

A gnarled trunk, planted on its roots, divides into branches laden with leaves that fill the whole upper part of the medal; the ground is left smooth so the tree can breathe. Our sculptor took care over every leaf, the veins, the movement of the branches. The tree of life opens the Bible, "in the midst of the garden" (Genesis 2:9), and closes it, with its twelve fruits and its leaves that heal (Revelation 22:2). It speaks of life handed down, the rooting of a family, the growth of a child: a symbol everyone can read, believer or not, suited to a christening as much as to a birth.

A christening medal struck in the traditional way in 18-karat gold

Like all our gold medals, the Tree of Life is made by stamping: the 750/1000 gold blank is struck under an engraved die, which gives the foliage its fineness and the trunk its relief, then given a satin finish. The gold weight is 2.30 g in 16 mm and 2.90 g in 18 mm. Made in France, in our workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

The 16 mm is the christening size; the 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Tree of Life is available in gold and mother-of-pearl, in solid silver, in silver and mother-of-pearl and in gold plate; it also exists in a beaded version, on a hammered ground.
