Beaded Tree of Life Medal

The Beaded Tree of Life medal is an 18-karat yellow gold christening medal depicting a tree in full leaf on a hammered ground, within a rim of beads in the manner of ancient coins.

A tree of life, as on an ancient coin

The tree, gnarled trunk and foliage veined leaf by leaf, stands out against a lightly hammered ground that catches the light; a row of gold beads runs around the whole rim, like the beaded border of antique coins. Our sculptor kept the same tree as on our Tree of Life medal, but gave it this frame and texture that make the medal an older, graver object. The tree of life, "in the midst of the garden" (Genesis 2:9), speaks of life handed down and the rooting of a family — a symbol everyone can read, for a christening as for a birth.

A christening medal struck in the traditional way in 18-karat gold

Like all our gold medals, the Beaded Tree of Life is made by stamping: the 750/1000 gold blank is struck under an engraved die, which gives the foliage, the grain of the ground and the beading their relief, then given a satin finish. The gold weight is 2.30 g in 16 mm and 2.90 g in 18 mm. Made in France, in our workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

The 16 mm is the christening size; the 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Beaded Tree of Life is available in gold and mother-of-pearl, in solid silver, in silver and mother-of-pearl and in gold plate, to be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.
