Christ - Sacred Heart

The Christ Sacred Heart is an 18-karat yellow gold christening medal depicting Jesus face on, pointing to his heart crowned with thorns and surmounted by a cross.

A Christ who shows his heart

Jesus is seen face on, his gaze straight, long hair parted in the middle, a short beard, a radiant halo marked with the cross behind his head. With one hand he points to his heart, carved on his chest, girded with the crown of thorns, surmounted by a cross and with flames rising from it; the other hand is open, turned towards the viewer. The drapery of the tunic and the outer tunic fills the whole lower part of the medal. It is the image of the Sacred Heart as devotion has fixed it since the apparitions at Paray-le-Monial, in 1673: the heart of Jesus, offered, wounded and burning with love for mankind. The gaze, frontal, is what strikes first; our sculptor wanted it so, hard to look away from. Exclusive Manufacture Mayaud design, registered.

A christening medal struck in the traditional way in 18-karat gold

Like all our gold medals, the Christ Sacred Heart is made by stamping: the 750/1000 gold blank is struck under an engraved die, which gives the rays, the thorns and the flames their crispness, then given a satin finish. The gold weight is 2.90 g in 18 mm. Made in France, in our workshop.

Engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size for a christening medal, the one worn for a lifetime. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Christ Sacred Heart is available in gold and mother-of-pearl, in solid silver, in silver and mother-of-pearl and in gold plate, to be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.
