La Croix Perlée Medal

The beaded cross is an 18-karat yellow gold medal depicting a simple cross entirely formed of raised beads, within a medallion itself bordered with beads.

The cross, with four equal arms, is composed solely of small raised beads set closely together. It rests on a lightly hammered satin background, framed by a fluted floral border, itself underlined by a row of beads. Nothing else: no figure, no inscription, only this pared-back design that plays on the repetition of the beaded motif. It is a christening medal of a very contemporary design, despite the age-old technique of its striking, suited to a child as much as to an adult who wishes to wear a discreet cross.

A medal struck in the traditional way in 18-karat gold

Like all our gold medals, the beaded cross is made by stamping: the 750/1000 gold blank is struck under an engraved die, with a matte satin finish that brings out the relief of the beads. The gold weight is 2.30 g in 16 mm and 2.90 g in 18 mm. Exclusive Manufacture Mayaud design, registered, made in France.

Diameter, engraving and variations

The 16 mm is a discreet size; the 18 mm, more assertive. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The beaded cross is available in solid silver and in a mini 12 mm version, in gold and in silver, to be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.
