Virgin Rosa Mystica Medal

This second Rosa Mystica is a gold-plated christening medal depicting the Virgin Mary in profile, between two garlands of roses, beneath her engraved title.

A Virgin Mary among the roses

Mary is seen in profile, turned to the right, a veil over her hair falling to the bottom of the medal; behind her, a halo engraved in rays. On either side of the portrait, two garlands of roses climb along the edge, with their leaves and buds, up to the inscription ROSA MYSTICA engraved in an arc at the top. Mystic Rose is one of the titles of the Litany of Loreto; here, our sculptor took it at its word and gave Mary her garden. The most flowery of our Virgin Mary medals: every rose is modelled.

Mayaud gold plate

This medal is made in Mayaud gold plate: a French-made solid gilded brass base, struck under the same engraved die as the gold version, covered with a 3-micron layer of 18-karat (750/1000) gold. Made in our Paris workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package.
