The Chi-Rho Medal

The Chrisme is a medal in jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl rimmed in solid silver, depicting the monogram of Christ, one of the oldest Christian symbols.

What does the Chrisme mean?

The Chrisme, or Christogram, is the monogram of Christ, formed from the Greek letters Chi (Χ) and Rho (Ρ), the first two letters of "Christos". Here it is flanked by the Alpha and the Omega, recalling Christ's words in Revelation: "I am the Alpha and the Omega", the beginning and the end. It is one of the oldest Christian symbols, popularised by the Emperor Constantine in the fourth century, who had it engraved on his army's standards.

Our sculptor engraved the Chi-Rho at the centre of the medal, flanked by the Alpha and the Omega on either side, in a pared-back design that leaves the symbol fully legible. A medal with no figure, direct and timeless, suited to all ages.

Natural extra-white mother-of-pearl of jewellery grade, carved in our workshop and set in a solid 925/1000 silver rim, bail included. Rim in polished finish. Made to order in our Paris workshop, within 2 to 3 days.

Three diameters, 20, 22 and 24 mm: the 20 mm for discreet wear, the 22 mm for everyday, the 24 mm as a pendant. To be worn on a solid silver trace chain.
