Saint Christopher Medal

Saint Christopher is a christening medal in jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl rimmed in solid silver, depicting the patron of travellers crossing a river, the Infant Jesus on his shoulder and a staff in his hand.

A giant who carries the Child, in mother-of-pearl and silver

Christopher is seen in three-quarter view, kneeling in the water, a simple tunic knotted at the waist, the staff planted before him; on his shoulder, the Infant Jesus, haloed, one hand resting on his head; behind them, the banks and the mountains. Legend tells that this colossus carried travellers across a river, and that one child grew so heavy with each step that he understood he was carrying Christ, who carries the weight of the world. Carved in mother-of-pearl, the scene takes on the relief of a cameo, and the silver rim almost melts into its whiteness. Patron of travellers, Saint Christopher is worn at the neck before a departure.

Jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl, rimmed in solid silver

Natural extra-white mother-of-pearl of jewellery grade, carved in our workshop and set in a rhodium-plated solid 925/1000 silver rim, bail included, from 1.00 g of silver in 20 mm to 1.20 g in 24 mm. Rim in polished finish. Made to order in our Paris workshop, within 2 to 3 days.

Diameters and variations

Three diameters, 20, 22 and 24 mm. The smooth reverse of the mother-of-pearl takes an engraving.
