Virgin and Child Medal La Maternité

Motherhood is a gold-plated christening medal depicting the Virgin and Child in the first days: a swaddled newborn held close to his mother, and Mary's gaze raised to heaven.

A Virgin and Child of the first days

The Child is very small, wrapped in his swaddling, his head resting against his mother's breast as she holds him with both hands. Mary does not look at him: she raises her eyes to Heaven, in thanks for the arrival of this child. Our sculptor gave both figures a radiant halo, the Child's in straight rays, Mary's fuller. The modelling of the veil and swaddling is almost textile. A medal that speaks first to the parents of a newborn, and one also given to a young mother, to celebrate motherhood itself. Mayaud gold plate

This medal is made in Mayaud gold plate: a French-made solid gilded brass base, struck under the same engraved die as the gold version, covered with a 3-micron layer of 18-karat (750/1000) gold. Made in our Paris workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. Motherhood is also available in solid yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl and in solid silver.
