Virgin with Lilies Medal

The Virgin with Lilies is a gold-plated christening medal depicting the Virgin Mary in profile, holding against her a lily stem in bloom.

A Virgin Mary and her flower

Mary is seen in profile, turned to the left, a veil over her hair falling to her shoulder, a halo of a simple line behind her head. Her eyes lowered, she holds with both hands, against her breast, a lily stem whose flower opens at shoulder height. The lily is Mary's flower: the angel of the Annunciation carries it, and it speaks of purity. Here it is not the angel who brings it but Mary who keeps it, as one keeps a promise. The gesture of the hands, closed around the stem, is the most worked part of the relief. Exclusive Manufacture Mayaud creation, registered design.

Mayaud gold plate

This medal is made in Mayaud gold plate: a French-made solid gilded brass base, struck under the same engraved die as the gold version, covered with a 3-micron layer of 18-karat (750/1000) gold. Made in our Paris workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Virgin with Lilies is also available in solid yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl and in solid silver.
