Crowned Virgin and Child Medal

In solid silver, the Crowned Virgin and Child keeps everything that makes the model: Mary crowned, her long hair loose, holding the sleeping Child against her.

Mary wears a chased diadem set on long wavy hair that falls freely over her shoulders, without a veil; her eyes lowered, she inclines her face towards the Child, swaddled, asleep against her breast. The crown speaks of the Queen of Heaven; the loose hair and lowered gaze speak of the mother. In the satin silver, the hair and the crown catch the light lock by lock.

A christening medal struck in the traditional way in solid silver

Like our gold medals, the Crowned Virgin and Child is made by stamping: the solid 925/1000 silver blank is struck under the same engraved die as the gold version, giving exactly the same relief, just as crisp; the silver medal is thicker. Rhodium-plated, the silver does not tarnish and needs no care. The silver weighs 3.60 g in 18 mm. Made in France, in our workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size for a christening medal. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Crowned Virgin and Child is also available in 18-karat yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl, in silver and mother-of-pearl, in vermeil and in gold plate, to be worn on a solid silver trace chain or curb chain.
