Vierge Magnifique Medal

The Magnificent Virgin is a gold-plated christening medal depicting the Virgin Mary almost from the front, hands joined, her gaze turned towards the viewer.

A Virgin Mary who looks at you

Mary is seen in three-quarter view, a veil over her hair framing her face to the shoulders. Unlike most of our Virgins, she does not lower her eyes: she looks straight ahead, calmly, and this direct gaze makes the whole presence of the medal. Her hands are joined low, against her breast, in a discreet gesture of prayer: this open gaze and these hands brought to the heart are those of Mary at the moment of the Annunciation, between astonishment and consent. The halo is edged with a scallop of small arches. A Virgin Mary medal of fine bearing, sober and assured.

Mayaud gold plate

This medal is made in Mayaud gold plate: a French-made solid gilded brass base, struck under the same engraved die as the gold version, covered with a 3-micron layer of 18-karat (750/1000) gold. Made in our Paris workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Magnificent Virgin is also available in solid yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl, in solid silver and in silver and mother-of-pearl.
