Beaded Angel Raphael Medal
The beaded Raphael angel is an 18-karat yellow gold medal depicting a young, pensive angel, chin resting on his hand, within a beaded rim.
A pensive angel, in a beaded setting
The angel is seen half-length, wings folded behind him, head inclined and resting on his hand, his gaze distant, as if lost in thought. A stylised cloud runs beneath him. The whole medal is bordered by a double row of raised beads, which gives it its name and its character: neither a biblical scene nor an identified saint, but a figure of an angel with a timeless sweetness, close to the cherubs of classical painting. A sober, delicate christening medal, for those seeking an angel without attaching a particular first name to it.
A christening medal struck in the traditional way in 18-karat gold
Like all our gold medals, the beaded Raphael angel is made by stamping: the 750/1000 gold blank is struck under an engraved die, which gives the face and the beads of the rim their crispness, then given a satin finish. The gold weight is 2.30 g in 16 mm and 2.90 g in 18 mm. Exclusive Manufacture Mayaud design, registered, made in France.
Diameter, engraving and variations
The 16 mm is the christening size; the 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The beaded Raphael angel is available in gold and mother-of-pearl, in solid silver and in silver and mother-of-pearl, to be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.
