This christening medal in 18-karat yellow gold depicts the Virgin and Child in profile: Mary looks at her son, and the Child, nestled in her arms, seems pensive and happy.

A Virgin and Child, the attentive mother and the contented Child

Mary is seen in profile, a veil resting on her hair and falling in long folds down her back; she lowers her eyes towards the Child, whom she holds nestled in her arms, her open hand beneath him. The Child, for his part, does not look at his mother: he seems lost in his thoughts, happy, in a state of near beatitude. This slight shift makes the whole design. The mother is entirely devoted to her son; the son, already, is turned towards the world and contented. Two halos of a fine line, a bracelet on Mary's wrist, the embroidered border of her dress: our sculptor has put detail at the service of a very sober composition, whose smooth background leaves all the room to the two figures.

A christening medal struck in the traditional way in 18-karat gold

Like all our gold medals, Le Lien is made by stamping: the 750/1000 gold blank is struck under an engraved die, for a crisp and lasting relief, then given a satin finish. The gold weight is 2.30 g in 16 mm and 2.90 g in 18 mm. Made in France, in our workshop.

Diameter, engraving and variations

The 16 mm is the christening size; the 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse accommodates an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. Le Lien is available in gold and mother-of-pearl, to be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.
