Notre Dame du Pilier
Notre Dame du Pilier is a christening medal in mother-of-pearl and 18-karat gold that takes up the official Virgin and Child of Notre-Dame de Paris, the statue of the pillar, on a smooth mother-of-pearl background.
The Virgin of the pillar in mother-of-pearl
Mary crowned, standing, a veil resting on her hair, holds the Child nestled on her arm, who turns towards her; her tunic falls in long folds. Without the rose window, the jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl background leaves all the space to the statue, whose tunic folds and crown read like a cameo. The Virgin of the pillar of Notre-Dame de Paris, a fourteenth-century statue standing at the crossing of the transept, which came through the fire of 2019, thus becomes a sober, Parisian christening medal. The gold rim frames it.
Jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl, rimmed in 18-karat gold
