Notre Dame de la Tendresse

In mother-of-pearl and 18-karat gold, Notre Dame de la Tendresse changes its light: the Virgin and Child, sculpted in jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl, is read in the milky transparency of the material, set in a fine band of gold.

A Virgin and Child in mother-of-pearl

The design is that of our gold medal: Mary in profile, a veil resting on her hair, her face tilted towards the Child asleep against her cheek. In mother-of-pearl, the relief no longer plays on the reflections of the metal but on the depth of the material: the light enters the mother-of-pearl and comes out softened, the faces seem lit from within. This christening medal is often chosen for a little girl; in a large diameter, it is also worn very well by a young mother.

Jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl, set in 18-karat gold

We use only natural extra-white mother-of-pearl, of jewellery grade: a mother-of-pearl chosen for the regularity of its grain and the evenness of its whiteness, the only kind that allows such a fine relief to be sculpted. It is set in an 18-karat yellow gold bezel, bail included, which represents 1.30 g of gold in 18 mm and up to 1.60 g in 24 mm. Bezel in polished finish. Each medal is crafted to order in our Paris workshop, within 2 to 3 days.

Diameters and variations

Four diameters, from 18 to 24 mm: the 18 mm for a christening, the 20 or 22 mm for everyday wear, the 24 mm as a true pendant. The same Virgin and Child is available in solid yellow gold and in silver and mother-of-pearl, to be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.
