Sainte-Chapelle Rosette Medal
Sainte-Chapelle Rose Window Medal crafted in solid 925/1000 silver.
100% made in France.
A superb jewel of exception, rare and precious. We have reproduced, with great attention to detail, the famous rose window.
The Sainte-Chapelle is a Gothic chapel on the Île de la Cité in Paris, France. It was built between 1242 and 1248 by King Louis IX, also known as Saint Louis, to house Christian relics, notably Christ's Crown of Thorns.
The Sainte-Chapelle is famous for its magnificent stained-glass windows, which depict biblical scenes and illustrate the history of the Christian world. These windows, some more than 15 metres high, create a luminous, colourful atmosphere inside the chapel.
The chapel is divided into two levels: the lower chapel, for servants and people of lower rank, and the upper chapel, reserved for royalty and nobles. The refined decoration and impressive architecture make it a remarkable example of Gothic art.
The Sainte-Chapelle is a listed historic monument in France and part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, on account of its historical and architectural importance.
The medal is finely chased and pierced to obtain an airy, breathtaking jewel.
A perfect gift to celebrate and congratulate a mother, for a birthday, a birth...
An exclusive medal that is our pride. Available in limited quantity, as making this jewel takes many hours of work.
Registered design.
The flamboyant rose, pierced in silver
The great west rose of the Sainte-Chapelle, given by Charles VIII at the end of the fifteenth century, is here entirely pierced in solid silver: the central quatrefoil, the hearts and flame-shaped mouchettes are cut open, and light passes through the medal. The polished silver gives this foliage of stone the clarity of lace.
The know-how of Mayaud rose windows
This medal is the silver variation of our Sainte-Chapelle rose window, born of the same know-how as our jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl rose windows and our openwork solid gold rose windows, a principle Manufacture Mayaud was the first to offer with Notre-Dame de Paris. Registered design filed with the INPI, 100% made in France in our Paris workshop.
