Sainte-Chapelle Rose Window Medal crafted in 18-karat 750/1000 gold.

100% made in France.

A superb jewel of exception, rare and precious. We have reproduced, with great attention to detail, the famous rose window.

The Sainte-Chapelle is a Gothic chapel on the Île de la Cité in Paris, France. It was built between 1242 and 1248 by King Louis IX, also known as Saint Louis, to house Christian relics, notably Christ's Crown of Thorns.
The Sainte-Chapelle is famous for its magnificent stained-glass windows, which depict biblical scenes and illustrate the history of the Christian world. These windows, some more than 15 metres high, create a luminous, colourful atmosphere inside the chapel.
The chapel is divided into two levels: the lower chapel, for servants and people of lower rank, and the upper chapel, reserved for royalty and nobles. The refined decoration and impressive architecture make it a remarkable example of Gothic art.
The Sainte-Chapelle is a listed historic monument in France and part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, on account of its historical and architectural importance.
The medal is finely chased and pierced to obtain an airy, breathtaking jewel.

A perfect gift to celebrate and congratulate a mother, for a birthday, a birth...

An exclusive medal that is our pride. Available in limited quantity, as making this jewel takes many hours of work.

Registered design.

The flamboyant rose, pierced in solid gold

The great west rose of the Sainte-Chapelle, given by Charles VIII at the end of the fifteenth century, is here pierced in the gold itself: the central quatrefoil, the hearts and flame-shaped mouchettes blossoming to the edge are cut open, and light passes through the medal as it passes through the stained glass of the Apocalypse. The polished gold draws this foliage of stone at the scale of a jewel, with a fineness few workshops can achieve.

The know-how of Mayaud rose windows

After being the first to offer a cathedral rose window in mother-of-pearl and gold, then the first to offer the Notre-Dame de Paris rose window pierced in solid 18-karat gold, Manufacture Mayaud extends this know-how to the Sainte-Chapelle. Registered design filed with the INPI, 100% made in France in our Paris workshop.

18-karat yellow gold, diameters and variations

750/1000 yellow gold, polished finish: 2.70 g of gold in 20 mm, 3.35 g in 22 mm and 4.00 g in 24 mm. Made to order within 10 to 15 days. Being openwork, this medal has no solid reverse and cannot be personalised by engraving. The Sainte-Chapelle rose window is also available in mother-of-pearl and gold and in openwork solid silver. To be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.

Frequently asked questions

Can this medal be engraved? No: being openwork, it has no solid reverse. For an engravable medal, choose the mother-of-pearl and gold version, whose reverse is smooth.

Which diameter to choose? The 20 mm for discreet wear, the 22 mm for everyday, the 24 mm as a pendant, which leaves the tracery fully legible.

What makes the Mayaud rose window unique? We are the first House to have offered cathedral rose windows pierced in solid 18-karat gold, and the only one in the world to make them in jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl; every model is a registered design filed with the INPI.
