Notre Dame de Paris Rosette Medal
In brief: the south rose window of Notre-Dame de Paris, known as the Rose du Midi, is one of the cathedral's three great rose windows: given by Saint Louis in the 13th century, it was restored by Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century. Read our guide to cathedral rose windows.

We proudly present the fruit of long and meticulous work: the Notre-Dame de Paris Rose Window Medal crafted in 18-karat 750/1000 gold.
On the occasion of the reopening of the splendid Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, we wished once again to honour this architectural masterpiece, recognised the world over, the pride of the French, rising in the heart of the city of Paris.
Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral is reborn from its ashes, more beautiful and majestic than ever. The south rose window, the Rose du Midi, given by Saint Louis in the thirteenth century and restored notably by Viollet-le-Duc after the revolution of 1830, still stands intact and brings light and clarity to our beautiful cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris.
Passionate about and admiring of the details of this rose window, Manufacture Mayaud created a signature rose window medal in gold and mother-of-pearl which demands a great deal of work from us, but which you appreciate, to our great delight.
For the reopening, we take up a new challenge by offering you this Notre-Dame de Paris rose window medal entirely in 18-karat 750/1000 gold. This solid gold medal is made 100% in France, and more precisely in our Paris workshop.
We hope you will take as much pleasure in wearing it as we put our hearts into making it.
A rose window in openwork solid gold
Here, no mother-of-pearl: the rose is pierced in the gold itself. Every void of the rose window, between the spokes, in the trefoils and quatrefoils, is cut open, so that light passes through the medal as it passes through the stained glass. The central quatrefoil, the two rings of tracery and the outer circle are those of the Rose du Midi; the polished gold draws the stone network at the scale of a jewel. It is goldsmith's work of great fineness, which few workshops are able to carry to this degree of detail.
A first by Manufacture Mayaud
After being the first to offer the Notre-Dame de Paris rose window in mother-of-pearl and gold, Manufacture Mayaud was the first to offer its openwork model in solid 18-karat gold. This model is a registered design filed with the INPI. 100% made in France, in our Paris workshop.
