Virgin Medal Virgo Virginum
Virgo Virginum is a gold-plated christening medal depicting the Virgin Mary in profile, a bouquet of lilies in her hand, her Latin title engraved in the halo.
A Virgin Mary with a bouquet of lilies
Mary is seen in profile, turned to the right, a veil over her hair falling in soft folds onto her shoulder. She holds before her a small bouquet of open lilies. Around her head, the halo bears, in capital letters, the inscription VIRGO VIRGINUM, Virgin of virgins, one of the titles the Litany of Loreto gives her. The lily takes up the same theme, that of purity. The smooth ground leaves this portrait its medallion clarity.
Mayaud gold plate
This medal is made in Mayaud gold plate: a French-made solid gilded brass base, struck under the same engraved die as the gold version, covered with a 3-micron layer of 18-karat (750/1000) gold. Made in our Paris workshop.
Diameter, engraving and variations
Offered in 18 mm, the classic size. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. Virgo Virginum is also available in solid yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl and in solid silver.
