Gold-Plated Medals
Our gold-plated medals share the subjects and relief of our gold medals, on a solid brass base made in France and coated with 18-karat gold. The look of gold, for a more accessible birth, christening or communion gift.
Quality gold plate
The quality of gold plate depends on two things: the base and the thickness of the plating. Ours rest on a solid brass base made in France, coated with a 3-micron layer of 18-karat gold.
Wearing it well
Gold plate needs more care than solid metal: avoid perfume, sea water and prolonged rubbing, which can wear the plating on the most prominent reliefs. For a medal to hand down, choose 18-karat gold; for the same relief in solid metal, rhodium-plated silver.
