The medal takes up the great rose of the west facade of Saint-Étienne cathedral in Toulouse, a thirteenth-century rose inspired by that of Notre-Dame de Paris, which lights the nave from a facade famous for its asymmetry. Its design has the clarity of a wheel of light: a central oculus crowned with small lobes, then two rings of multi-lobed arches, eight at the heart and sixteen at the edge, carried by slender colonnettes radiating like the spokes of a wheel. Our sculptor has rendered every colonnette and every lobe; carved in mother-of-pearl, the rose takes on the softness of stained glass, and the silver rim melts into its whiteness.

Each rose window takes many hours of work in our Paris workshop: the tracery is drawn from the rose itself, then carved and engraved in mother-of-pearl at the scale of a medal, without simplifying anything. Diameters and variations

Four diameters, 20, 22, 24 and 26 mm: the larger the medal, the more clearly the two rings of arches can be read. The Toulouse rose window is also available in mother-of-pearl and 18-karat gold. To be worn on a solid silver trace chain.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Toulouse rose window medal be engraved? Yes: the reverse of the mother-of-pearl is smooth and takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package.

Which diameter to choose? The 20 mm for a christening or a child, the 22 or 24 mm for everyday wear, the 26 mm as a pendant.
