Pope Leo XIV Medal

The Pope Leo XIV medal by Manufacture Mayaud bears the portrait of the Holy Father carved in natural, jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl, rimmed in 18-karat yellow gold. We created it in tribute to his visit to Paris on 25 and 26 September 2026.

The portrait of Leo XIV, carved in mother-of-pearl

An original creation by our sculptor, the obverse shows the Pope in profile, turned to the right, wearing the zucchetto, his face smiling; the inscription "LEO XIV", his name in Latin, runs along the right edge. Carved in bas-relief in mother-of-pearl, the portrait takes on the softness of a cameo, and the gold rim closes the medal.

A tribute to the Pope's visit to Paris

Elected on 8 May 2025, Robert Francis Prevost, born in Chicago in 1955, an Augustinian friar and for many years a missionary in Peru, took the name Leo XIV. From 25 to 28 September 2026 he visits France: Paris, Lourdes and Metz. In Paris, his visit includes Vespers at Notre-Dame Cathedral, the youth vigil at the Stade de France and an open-air Mass on the Place de la Concorde. This medal keeps the memory of it: for those who saw him pass, for a baptism or confirmation received that year, or simply as an object of devotion and a collector's piece.

Jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl, rimmed in 18-karat gold

Natural extra-white mother-of-pearl of jewellery grade, carved in our Paris workshop and set in an 18-karat yellow gold rim (750/1000), bail included, from 1.30 g of gold in 18 mm to 1.60 g in 24 mm. Rim in polished finish. Design registered with the INPI, 100% made in France, in Paris.

Diameters and engraving

Four diameters, 18, 20, 22 and 24 mm: the 18 mm for a child or a christening, the 20 and 22 mm for everyday wear, the 24 mm as a pendant, where the portrait reads in all its fineness.
