Virgin and Child with the Lamb Medal

In mother-of-pearl and 18-karat gold, the Virgin and Child with the Lamb, after Bouguereau, finds the very substance of its subject: the fleece of the Agnus Dei in the whiteness of jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl.

A Virgin and Child in mother-of-pearl

Mary, a long veil laid over her hair, lowers her eyes towards the Child nestled in her arms; he has his eyelids lowered over the lamb he holds in both arms, the Agnus Dei, its head resting against his chest. The composition comes from The Virgin of the Lamb painted by William Bouguereau in 1903. In the mother-of-pearl, the lamb seems made of the same light as the child: the meaning of the christening medal, the Lamb of God pointed out by John the Baptist at the Jordan, can be read in the material itself.

Jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl, set in 18-karat gold

Three textures, fleece, skin, veil, sculpted in a single piece of natural extra-white, jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl, chosen for the purity of its grain. Bezel and bail in 18-karat yellow gold, from 1.30 g of gold in 18 mm to 1.60 g in 24 mm. Bezel in polished finish. Made to order in our Paris workshop, within 2 to 3 days.

Diameters and variations

From 18 to 24 mm: the 18 mm for christenings, the 20 and 22 mm for everyday wear, the 24 mm as a pendant. The Virgin and Child with the Lamb is available in solid yellow gold and in solid silver, to be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.
