Divine Virgin Medal
The Divine Virgin is a christening medal in 18-karat yellow gold depicting the Virgin Mary face-on, her arms crossed over her chest, beneath a halo of long rays.
A Virgin Mary with her arms crossed over her heart
Mary looks straight ahead, her face serene, her long loose hair falling over her shoulders, without a veil. She crosses her arms over her chest, hands flat, in the gesture of acceptance: this is how painters have often depicted the Virgin of the Annunciation, at the moment she says yes. Behind her, a halo of long straight rays radiates out to the edge of the medal, against a lightly hammered background that catches the light differently from smooth surfaces. The ample drapery of the mantle fills the whole lower part. It is the most frontal of our Virgin Mary medals, and one of the most expressive.
A christening medal struck in the traditional way in 18-karat gold
Like all our gold medals, the Divine Virgin is obtained by stamping: the 750/1000 gold blank is struck under an engraved die, which gives the relief of the hands and face its crispness, then satin-finished. The gold weight is 2.90 g in 18 mm. Made in France, in our workshop.
Engraving and variations
Offered in 18 mm, the classic christening medal size, the one that is worn for a lifetime. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Divine Virgin is available in gold and mother-of-pearl and in solid silver, to be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.
