9-karat yellow gold
This chain is made in 9-karat (375/1000) yellow gold. This alloy, harder and less costly than 18-karat, is real gold, hallmarked as such: it allows a thicker chain for the same budget. The weight of each variant is shown in its name, from 1.80 g for the 40 cm in 1.3 mm to 7.80 g for the 60 cm in 2.25 mm.
Lengths, gauges and advice
Five gauges, from 1.3 to 2.25 mm, and lengths from 40 to 60 cm. For a christening chain the ideal gauge is 1.45 to 1.6 mm, in 40 or 45 cm; the 1.85 and 2.25 mm suit pendants and adult daily wear.
