The rose of the setting sun, pierced in silver

The medal takes up the west rose of the Primatiale Saint-Jean of Lyon, the rose of the setting sun, created in 1394 by Henri de Nivelle and nicknamed the rose of the Lamb. The rose is entirely pierced in solid silver: central quatrefoil, six large heart-shaped petals, six narrow petals and a ring of trefoil lobes, cut open, so that light passes through the medal. The polished silver gives this flamboyant tracery the clarity of lace.

This medal is the silver variation of our Lyon rose window, born of the same know-how as our jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl rose windows and our openwork solid gold rose windows, a principle Manufacture Mayaud was the first to offer with Notre-Dame de Paris. Registered design filed with the INPI, 100% made in France in our Paris workshop.

Solid silver, diameters and variations

Solid 925/1000 silver, polished finish: 1.80 g in 20 mm, 2.25 g in 22 mm and 2.70 g in 24 mm. Made to order within 10 to 15 days. Being openwork, this medal cannot be personalised by engraving. The Lyon rose window is also available in mother-of-pearl and gold, in openwork solid gold and in silver and mother-of-pearl. To be worn on a solid silver trace chain.

Frequently asked questions

Can this medal be engraved? No: being openwork, it has no solid reverse. For an engravable medal, choose the silver and mother-of-pearl version, whose reverse is smooth.

Which diameter to choose? The 20 mm for discreet wear, the 22 mm for everyday, the 24 mm as a pendant.
