Saint Jean Cathedral of Lyon Rosette
This Rosette Medal depicts Saint Jean Cathedral (also known as the Primatiale Saint-Jean-Baptiste-et-Saint-Étienne) located in Lyon, more precisely in the medieval quarter of Old Lyon.
This medal is crafted in natural jewellery-grade mother-of-pearl and set in solid 925/1000 silver. It is made 100% in France and each Saint-Jean Cathedral rosette is the fruit of many hours of handwork... It is a complex design that demands great mastery and meticulousness from our engraver.
This rose window is nicknamed the rose window of the setting sun, as it is of an almost surreal beauty when the sun is sinking. It then takes on a warm colour, a yellow reminiscent of gold.
It is also commonly called the "Lamb rose window" because of the Lamb at its centre.
We owe the creation of this incredible rose window, dating from 1394, to Henri de Nivelle. An incredible work to which we wanted to pay tribute by creating, with meticulous care and hard work, this rosette in mother-of-pearl set in gold
