The rose of the Sainte-Chapelle, in mother-of-pearl rimmed in silver

The medal takes up the great west rose of the Sainte-Chapelle, on the Île de la Cité in Paris. The chapel was raised by Saint Louis between 1242 and 1248 to house the Crown of Thorns; its present rose, given by Charles VIII at the end of the fifteenth century, is one of the masterpieces of flamboyant Gothic, and its stained glass tells the Apocalypse. On the medal, our sculptor transposed its tracery: a six-lobed central flower from which blossom hearts and flame-shaped mouchettes, branching to the edge in a foliage of stone of extreme fineness. Carved in mother-of-pearl, this network takes on the translucency of stained glass; the silver rim melts into its whiteness. Diameters and variations

Four diameters, 20, 22, 24 and 26 mm: the larger the medal, the more finely the flamboyant tracery can be read. The Sainte-Chapelle rose window is also available in mother-of-pearl and 18-karat gold, in openwork solid 18-karat gold and in openwork solid silver. To be worn on a solid silver trace chain.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Sainte-Chapelle rose window medal be engraved? Yes, in mother-of-pearl and silver: the reverse of the mother-of-pearl is smooth and takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The openwork versions in solid gold and silver cannot be engraved.

Which diameter to choose? The 20 mm for a christening or a child, the 22 or 24 mm for everyday wear, the 26 mm to read the tracery in all its fineness, as a pendant.
