Curb Chain
The curb chain in 18-karat yellow gold is the great classic of the christening and communion chain: a flat, solid link that is kept for a lifetime.
The curb link, flat and solid
The rings of the curb chain (gourmette) are twisted then flattened, so that the chain lies flat on the skin and catches the light along its whole length. It is an old link, very strong, timeless and unisex, which goes with all our medals and pendants. Chosen for a christening, a communion or a confirmation, and never replaced.
Solid 18-karat yellow gold
This chain is made in solid 18-karat (750/1000) yellow gold. The gold weight of each variant is shown in its name, from 3.00 g for the 40 cm in 1.3 mm to 9.70 g for the 60 cm in 2.1 mm.
Lengths, gauges and advice
Five gauges, from 1.3 to 2.1 mm, and lengths from 40 to 60 cm. The classic gauge for a christening chain is 1.4 to 1.6 mm, in 40 or 45 cm; the 1.8 and 2.1 mm suit adult daily wear and heavier pendants.
