The Botticelli Madonna Excellence is the most accomplished version of our christening medal after Botticelli: the same design, the same relief, struck in a markedly thicker gold blank.

Mary's veil, edged with its engraved border, the Child nestled against her, his hand on her cheek, the two halos drawn in a single line: the design and the relief are those of the Botticelli Madonna. With 4.20 g of gold in 18 mm, against 2.90 g for the classic version, the Excellence medal is struck in a noticeably thicker blank: more weight in the hand, more presence at the neck, a wider edge, and a solidity made to last for generations. A christening medal chosen when one wants the very finest, and one that is handed down.

Like all our gold medals, the Botticelli Madonna Excellence is made by stamping: the thicker 750/1000 gold blank is struck under the same engraved die as the classic version, then given a satin finish. The gold weight is 4.20 g in 18 mm. Made in France, in our workshop.

Engraving and variations

Offered in 18 mm, the classic size for a christening medal. The smooth reverse takes an engraving, first name and date, carried out in the workshop with the engraving package. The Botticelli Madonna is also available in the classic version in yellow gold, in gold and mother-of-pearl, in solid silver and in silver and mother-of-pearl, to be worn on an 18-karat yellow gold trace chain.
